How to Change Pitch Online with VMEG

  1. Add your recording

Drop MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC from your folder — or paste a direct URL if the file is already online. Got video instead? Upload MP4, MOV, or WebM and we extract the audio track in your browser. No sign-in required to open the editor. The waveform loads in seconds and the Pitch tab is ready when you land on this page.

  2. Move the pitch slider

The Pitch tab opens first on this page. Drag the slider up or down to shift voice or instrument tone by semitones. Hit play and listen before you commit — extreme shifts can sound thin or artificial. Use the waveform to find the moment you want, then fine-tune until the tone feels right.

  3. Export shifted audio

Pick MP3 for sharing, WAV for a DAW, or M4A/AAC for Apple-friendly playback. Preview once more after your final slider position — pitch and speed stay on separate tabs if you need both. Sign in when you are ready to download; editing and preview stay free in the browser. Your trim and speed changes remain in the same session until export.

Why Use VMEG Pitch Changer

Shift voice or instrument pitch in semitones, preview in the browser, and export without a DAW plugin.

Quick pitch shifts

Fix voice tone, match keys, or create effects without a DAW plugin. The Pitch tab opens on this page so you can shift recordings up or down and preview the result before export — ideal for voiceovers, memos, and general mono or stereo tracks.

Voice and general audio

Works on podcasts, voiceovers, and any mono or stereo track uploaded from file or URL. Extract audio from video when the clip you need is embedded in MP4, MOV, or WebM footage, then pitch-shift in the same browser editor.

Combined editor

Trim clips, adjust speed, then change pitch — one upload session. Creators often isolate a line on the Trim tab, set tempo on Speed, then fine-tune pitch without sending the file through multiple online tools.

FAQs about Pitch Changer

How do I change the pitch of a voice recording?

Upload the file, open Pitch, adjust the slider, preview, and export. Paste a URL or upload video to extract the audio track first — the pitch controls work the same once the waveform is loaded in the editor.

Will pitch change affect speed?

Pitch and Speed are separate controls. Use Speed tab for tempo without shifting key when keep-pitch is on. Open Pitch when you want semitone shifts for voice character or creative effect independent of duration.

How many semitones can I shift?

The editor exposes a practical range for web preview — typically up to ±12 semitones. Extreme shifts may sound artificial; preview before export and combine with Trim if you only need pitch change on a short section.

Do I need an account to download?

Editing and preview are free in your browser. Sign in when you save your pitch-shifted file. Test slider positions and tab combinations before choosing MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC export.
